Spent $593 for normal expenses, $150 for 501(c)3 application. 5 new members: jiffer, arrow, womble, sea, and dea. June: so far have taken in $11158 (!) to general fund, $10 to spare parts. Will have approximately same expenses as May (no 501(c)3 fee, of course). 3 new members, currently at 106 members, 95 of whom are paid up. 8718 Publicity Committee - mta press release: been issued, with no apparent results. misti's T-shirt raffle had 16 entries: arrow, atticus, bjorn, cb311, giry, headdoc, hematite, jiffer, jmm, kaplan, mnlze, nephi, nt, parnesen, remmers, shm0. The drawing was held at meeting... Other (Eric Bassey)draws out the winner: headdoc (Audrey Bricker)! aruba has completed the Grex manual, distributed a few. Valerie is working on HTML version. Valerie has created business card flyers which need to be copied. STeve (STeve Andre') mentioned Grex classes as a possibility (old idea) to some discussion of where to find a suitable computer setup to hold classes. 990 Technical Committee - staff valerie has restored auarch (auction archive) account from backups. more ptys added: 96, up to 72 telnets allowed. Small discussion of vandals. (Some complaints about Indian users- chats, telnet queue filling up) STeve is researching spare parts, may have a good source (and perhaps be able to get a spare chassis "free"). Granny can be turned off, Pumpkin is now running much cooler, too. Arthurp has assembled, tested, and OS loaded the mail machine, is ready for security and config. 990EZ Cost reductions - aruba whether Grex needs to reduce costs, and how to do it. Aruba didn't bring any data (computer problems caused by major storm right before meeting), so no hard data to go from.
