 Minutes from the Grex emergency board meeting
 6/17/92 at 8pm on the Remmers's porch during quite the thunderstorm
 
 In attendance: remmers, mdw, morel, popcorn, mta, steve, mcnally, arabella,
 and krj.
 
 Note: it didn't occur to me to start taking minutes 'til well into the
 meeting.  I'm posting a summary here, rather than an attempt at a verbatim
 transcript.
 
 
 On Monday, Ken called John to ask for the money Grex owes him.  This meeting
 was called to plan a way to raise this money.
 
 The board kicked in the money needed.  John will bring it to Ken.  The board
 does *not* want to continue to fund Grex this way!!!  It's time to start
 fund raising!  We need about 14 new members, and/or some fundraisers.
 
 Fundraising ideas:
  * JCC sale.  We are definitely doing this.  Need more people to staff the
    Grex table.  We've got about 10 things to sell, can use more.  The sale
    starts at about 9:30am; setup starts at 7:30am.  Should be quiet by noon.
  * Finish assembling the Grex user's guide and sell that.  Tentative.
  * Tell the world that, on an experimental basis, we've got Usenet.
  * Ask the current Grex users to become members.
  * Need to advertise!  If a certain percentage of users will contribute,
    we can increase the number of contributions by increasing the number of
    users.  Idea: carry around a handful of flyers to hang up at the grocery
    store or wherever else people might read them.
  * Please advertise Grex on other BBSes, wherever you go.
  * Advertise Grex on Horst Mann, Pubnix, and other such lists.
 
 We talked about the new Agora fair witness.
 
 mcnally will add a "support" command so users can find out how to become
 a member.  This information needs to be easily accessible.
 
 steve will post his intro to Grex items.
 
 Grex birthday party, tentatively, 7/18.  Grex opened to the public at about
 4:30pm on July 18, 1991.  Watch for more details!
