!mooncat Item 106. Grex Board Of Directors May 23rd Meeting Minutes Anne Perry (mooncat) Thu, May 30, 2002 (12:53). 64 lines, 5 responses. Starring (in order of appearance): Mooncat*, Bhelliom, Aruba*, Remmers, Mary*, Flem*, Other*, a brief cameo of Eskarina, STeve* and MDW* (* indicate board member) 1. Gavel hit at 7:10 pm 2. "I don't have anything to report" Sir Chairman 3. April wasn't a great month for Grex, we took in $250, paid $431, had 89 members, 81 were paid up. Good enws! The issue of the charitable license and paperwork got settled, much to everyone's relief. So far in May- we have taken in $384 and have had two new members. 4. Publicity committee reports that there are a couple items in coop for discussing potential ways to get new members as well as possible ways of advertising for Grex (T-shirts) utilizing various websites created for such a purpose. 5. Staff report- STeve says that very little has been going on the system has been very reliable, there is progress being made on the SPARC and I3 is up and running. Remmers has a machine to donate that STeve will pick up in the very near future. 6. Our next meeting with be July 18th, 7:00 pm at Zingermans Next Door Kid's Room. There was some talk of trying to change the location due to Art Fair occupying that same week- Manchester was mentioned and Mooncat rather wanted to go to England, but it was explained that a trip for the board to England wasn't in Grex's budget. Other possbilities were mentioned in case Zingermans won't let us have the room- due to Art Fair. Will keep you all posted. 7. New Business: A discussion of the spam filter has been going on- possible ideas floated- should there be an opt out feature so that if you actually WANT spam mail you can receive it, perhaps tools could be written so that individuals could have their own spam filters in place. Issue with that particuolar idea- who would write it? Too big of a problem to be worthwhile? Remmers has volunteered/agreed to take a look at what might need to be done in procmail for this to be implemented on an individual basis. Further discussion of whether the mail individuals block will be sent to UCE (so that Marcus can keep the universal-on Grex- spam filter up to date) or if it wil go into some sort of buffer that has an expiration time limit written in to it. The story will continue once more details are know. Insurance: (discussion is occurring in another item) Aprill Agency drasticaly raised our annual premium- Keesan pointed Mary to a State Farm agent to see if we could get a better deal from her. Results being that State Farm couldn't cover us as an office- we have no one who works in the Pumpkin, they can cover us as a club. The policy the State Farm agent had available may not be offered next year. Price for State Farm was $165, or for $250 (or so) we could get more bells and whistles. Motion made: Move to authorize Mary Remmers to purchase a renter's liability insurance policy for Grex for a maximum premium of $260 Motion made by Flem, seconded by Mary All in Favor: 7, Opposed 0 8. Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm 5 responses total. !aruba ---------- (106) #1 Mark A. Conger (aruba) Thu, May 30, 2002 (23:04). 1 line. Seems reasonable. !mary ---------- (106) #5 Mary Remmers (mary) Mon, Dec 5, 2005 (10:48). 9 lines. Regarding Aprill Insurance Agency: Aprill had no control over our insurance premiums. The rate increase mentioned above came from from Hastings Mutual, the insurance company writing our policy. Aprill was simply the independent insurance broker who helped us out by finding us the least expensive policy that fit our needs. And help us out they did, over and over again. Grex is grateful for the fine service we received from Aprill Agency over the many years we needed insurance coverage.
